Looking Back: Holiday Fun 2015

The 2015 holiday season was so fun!  I consider the “holidays” to begin the day after Thanksgiving, when we go and get our tree at the Christmas tree farm. From that day on, we have so many fun and magical events leading up to Christmas!  This year has been so crazy, that I still haven’t been able to go through all of our photos from the holidays and from our trip to Albuquerque over the new year.  I never want to forget all of these good times, so I am still going to write about them…even though almost an entire year has passed.

Some of my favorite times over the holidays, are just days spent at home with the holiday decorations up, and the festive feeling in the air.

Shiloh and I also had a special treat last year by going to the Disney Live! Three Classic Fairy Tales event.  We really don’t do a lot of special events with just one of the kids, we tend to do all of these things as a family, so it was extra fun for Shiloh and I to go just the two of us.

Grammy came over to bake cookies with Shiloh and Phoenix, while Ben and I went out to dinner to celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary.

I took Shiloh and Phoenix to the Meet Santa event at Barton Creek Mall.  We had so much fun meeting Santa, and participating in all the fun activities they had set up.

We also had my sweet niece, Caitlin, come for a short visit- which is always so nice.

Our last event before Christmas Eve and Christmas was a fun-filled time at the Buda Trail of Lights.  We were so happy that Ben’s mom, stepdad, and brother were able to join us!

So fun looking back at all of these good times.  We had no idea what was in store for us for this year of 2016… I cannot believe that we are coming up on the holiday season already, and that we are approaching one year from Phoenix’s diagnosis.  This year has been incredibly difficult, but also filled with so much love and hope.  I cannot wait to continue to celebrate each day, and am so excited for the special holiday days that are coming!

  1. Love you guys so much. We have all watched your little family grow so much through such adversity. You all have handled it with so much grace. Phoenix is fortunate to find his little self with parents who have been able to go the extra yards with seemingly such ease. We are all in awe, Heathet & Ben.
